All-Time Series: CSI leads, 10-0
Last Meeting:  September 26, 2018 - CSI won, 8-0
Players to Watch (CSI): CSI now has two players atop the scoring standings so far, as last year's leading goal scorer, Samantha LaValle, and new freshman Amber Mitchell, each have four goals to start the 2019 campaign.  Mitchell has been hot, scoring a goal against Concordia last week and then scoring her first career-hat trick against MEC on Saturday, the only multi-goal scorer for CSI on Saturday.  Senior Lizbeth Aparicio scored five assists on Saturday, tied for the single highest assist total in a single game in CSI history.  She leads the team overall with six total helpers.  Look for Mirsade Pelinkovic to be a catalyst in the middle for CSI, she has a pair of goals and three assists as well this season.  The keeping duties are being held down by Samantha Beaudreault, who scored a shutout on Saturday and is now boasting a .632 save percentage and has made 24 saves through five games.
Players to Watch (YC):  It's been a tough start for the Cardinals, who have been outscored, 29-2, through their first five games this season.  The goal scorer has been Gisselle Flores-Brajas, who has both tallies on a team-best 19 shots, 13 of which have been on goal.  Taylor Bellmon has six shots  on that list and Geraldine Guese, has York's only assist and three shots so far.   Chelsea Vasquez has played every minute in goal so far this season, registering 51 saves and a .638 save percentage.
News & Notes: These two teams have been meeting since York established a team in 2011, and the Dolphins have owned the series, winning all ten previous meetings by a combined score of 70-0.  This is the sixth meeting on Staten Island, with the Dolphins having won here, 9-0 in 2017.  The Dolphins are 1-1 this season at home, but have played well here in a win over Penn College and a tough, 4-3, loss to Division II Concordia College last time out here on Wednesday of last week.  As for York, they are 0-5 this season and are looking to overturn a six-game slide dating back to last season.
What's Next?: After today's contest, CSI will be back to business on Saturday, traveling to play NCAA Division II Queens College at 1 pm, in what will be their last game against a Division II side in 2019.  As for York, they too will be back at it on Saturday, traveling to New London, Connecticut, for a date against Mitchell College, at 3 pm.
