All-Time Series: CSI leads, 40-17
Last Meeting: February 9, 2019 - CSI won, 75-33
Players to Watch (CSI): The Dolphins are coming off of what was undoubtedly in the midst of their best stretch of the season as they have won four of their last five games due in large part to the contributions of reigning CUNYAC Rookie of the Week
Jada Rogers. She has scored in double-figures three times in her last four games including a 16-point performance against the Bulldogs on Saturday.
Megan McEwan, the team's leading scorer, also had 16 on Saturday and continues to find her way to the free-throw line where she shot 9-12 in the win over Brooklyn.
Diana Todaro has been all over the glass this season for CSI averaging just short of a double-double with 9.2 points and 9.9 rebounds. However, her play has been a huge part of the CSI turnaround as she has pulled down double-digit rebounds in five of her last six games including three games with 14 or more boards.
Deidre Foster has similarly been a major factor on the boards with 8.8 per game to go along with a team-leading 46.7% from the field. In a complete effort in the last game,
Kayla Schmitter also scored in double-figures with 10 primarily as the result of going 8-8 from the charity stripe.
Players to Watch (LC): Nina Gill leads Lehman in scoring with just shy of 21 points per game, but she is the only Lightning player shooting above the 30% mark on the season. Fatomata Trawalleh is next in line with 10.3 points per game on 27.3% from the field, and outside of their top two scorers, it has been a struggle scoring for a Lehman team that is shooting only 27.4% from the field. On the boards, Gil's 8.2 rebounds per game are second only to Eriadna Vasquez's 8.7, but their contributions on the glass haven't been enough to earn their team a positive rebounding margin.
News & Notes: The Dolphins hold a 40-17 advantage in the all-time series and will be going for their seventh straight win over the Lightning tonight. The last time Lehman defeated CSI was in 2017 when they escaped The Tank with a 79-75 victory over the Dolphins. However, not a single player that played in that game for either team remains on the roster. The recent meetings between the two sides have heavily favored the Dolphins as each of the last three matchups, all Dolphins wins, have been decided by 24 points or more with the last two being decided by 40 and 42 points.
What's Next?: Today's game is the last of five straight against the CUNYAC for the Dolphins, and they will be back in action at The Tank on Friday night against Cabrini University at 5:30 PM. This will be their final non-CUNYAC opponent of the season as they will play each of their last nine games against their former conference.
