Staten Island, NY – The College of Staten Island Women's Soccer team picked up a, 1-1, tie against East Coast Conference (ECC) foe D'Youville College earlier this afternoon. CSI would move their record to 2-9-1 (1-3-1 ECC) while D'Youville would move to 4-5-1 (1-3-1 ECC). Although it wasn't a win for the Dolphins, it wasn't a loss either, the tie keeps them even with the Saints in the ECC standings.
KEY MOMENTS
CSI wasted no time attacking the Saints defense early and it paid off. It was at the 2:39 mark of the game when
Mirsade Pelinkovic found the back of the net that put CSI up 1-0. The Dolphins would hold that lead for the first half, however, nearly 15 minutes into the second half, the Saints would strike. D'Youville's, Kavina Ganeshan, would rebound a shot by her teammate that found the back of the net in the 59
th minute of play to tie the game at, 1-1. Both teams would have more chances to score in the second half and double overtime periods, but none found the back of the net and the game ended in a, 1-1 tie.
INSIDE THE BOX SCORE
The Dolphins tallied eight shots in the game, three of them on goal while the Saints took 13 shots, five on-goal. CSI took three shots combined in both overtime periods while the Saints mustered two shots. Both teams saved a goal apiece in the final overtime period. CSI goalie
Sara Villacres saved four of the five shots on goal taken by the Saints, including one in the final minutes of the second overtime.

Today's Dolphin of the game is Junior
Mirsade Pelinkovic, who gave CSI the lead early in the game. Although that was her only shot of the game, it was her second goal of the season and it gave the Dolphins the momentum they needed from start to finish.
