Springfield, MA - The College of Staten Island Men's Basketball team was defeated by the Yellow Jackets of American International College by a score of, 80-46. The loss drops the Dolphins to 0-3 to start the season while the victory improves the Yellow Jackets to 2-1. 

KEY MOMENTS

The Yellow Jackets opened the game with a 15-3 run against the Dolphins through the first several minutes. CSI would pull to within 6 points, but AIC responded with a 15-0 run to extend their lead to 32-11. The Dolphins connected on two consecutive three-pointers to pull within fifteen, but these six points were the last time CSI scored in the first half. Early in the second half, the Yellow Jackets put the game away with fourteen unanswered points on their way to the 34-point win. 

INSIDE THE BOX SCORE

The Dolphins failed to register any double-digit scorers with their standout performance coming on the glass in a thirteen rebound effort by Messiah Mallory. The Yellow Jackets had fourteen players enter the game tonight highlighted by Tyrae Washington's 15-point, 10-rebound double-double. AIC shot 43% from the field and 45% from the 3 point line while CSI did not surpass 25% shooting in either category. 

DOLPHIN OF THE GAME

Messiah Mallory lead the way in minutes for CSI with 35, shot 2-4 from downtown, and held a team share of the lead with 9 points. He also grabbed thirteen rebounds to go along with three assists.
