Staten Island, NY - The College of Staten Island Men's Basketball picked up their third conference victory of the season this evening as they picked up a win over the Mercy College Mavericks, 78-53. The win marks the 2nd game in a row for the Dolphins, now 4-7 overall and 3-2 in ECC play. The Mavericks fall to 1-12 on the year and to 1-5 in conference play.
KEY MOMENTS
The Dolphins open the game strong and never looked back. CSI never lost the lead tonight and held a double-digit lead for most of the game. The Dolphins victory was led by Messiah Mallory which he had a double-double, 32 points, and 16 rebounds. Mallory set CSI's Division 2 record for rebounds collecting 16 tonight.
INSIDE THE BOX SCORE
The Dolphins shot over 50% from the floor and defensively, CSI held Mercy to 30% shooting from the floor and 8% from downtown. CSI led for all of the game and won the game by 25 points.
DOLPHIN OF THE GAME
Tonight's Dolphin of the Game was a leader for CSI at both ends of the floor. Messiah Mallory scored 32 points and grabbed 16 rebounds shooting 14-20 from the field. His presence around the rim was a huge boost for the Dolphins on the glass as he notched his third double-double of the season and earned himself a place in CSI's division 2 record books for most rebounds in a single game collecting sixteen.
