Buffalo, NY | The College of Staten Island Men's Basketball Team snapped a four-game losing streak as they picked up a big win over the D'Youville College Saints, 75-66. This improves the Dolphins record to, now 5-12 overall and 3-8 in ECC play. the saints fall to 2-17 on the year and to 1-10 in conference play.
KEY MOMENTS
The Saints opened the scoring just over one minute into the game to go ahead 1-0, but from that point forward it was all Dolphins. Less than seven minutes into the first half, the Dolphins led by nine, but the Saints wouldn't let the deficit get out of hand as they stayed within ten heading into halftime. It was less than three minutes into the second half that an Austin Mick three put the Dolphins in front by fifteen for the first time. The Saints battled back and got the score within six however, the Dolphins were able to hold on to secure the victory.
INSIDE THE BOX SCORE
The Dolphins scored 76 points in the game behind 40% shooting from the floor. Defensively, CSI held D'Youville to 27% shooting from the floor and 26% from downtown. CSI led for all but just over one minute of the game in what was easily the team's most complete effort of the season.
DOLPHIN OF THE GAME
Tonight's Dolphin of the Game was a leader for CSI at both ends of the floor. Messiah Mallory scored 17 points and grabbed 17 rebounds shooting 6-12 from the field. In addition to his scoring,his presence around the rim was a huge boost for the Dolphins on the glass as he notched his fifth double-double of the season.
