MEN'S AND WOMEN'S CROSS-COUNTRY BOTH PLACE 19TH IN HIGHLANDER INVITATIONAL

Newark, NJ - The College of Staten Island Cross-Country Team returned to the NJIT Highlander Invitational for the fourth time in the last five years earlier today with both the men and women participating in the meet.  Both the men and women placed identically finishing 19th out of 26 participating teams.

On the men's side, the Dolphins were once again led by Muhammed Qadri who posted a time just inside of 30 minutes.  Alan Bass finished one minute behind Qadri, and Matthew Amato finished one minute behind Bass.  Pedro Astudillo was less than a minute behind Amato and Jamel Reynolds was the last of the CSI men to compete in the event.

Just as the men did, the women competed with a team of five once again paced by Julia Calvo.  She finished with a time of 24:30.93 followed by Alexandrea Jackson and Hailey Caruso.  Jazmine Severo and Fabiola Jean rounded out the women's squad.

The Dolphins will be back in action in thirteen days when they take part in the Adelphi Short-Course Showdown.
