MEETDAY: MEN'S SWIMMING & DIVING HEADS TO BROOKLYN FOR MATCHUP WITH ST. FRANICS

11/12/2022 8:00:00 AM

Brooklyn, NY - The College of Staten Island Men's Swimming & Diving Team will head to Brooklyn today as they compete in their third meet of the season against the Terriers of St. Francis College. The Dolphins come in 2-1 on the season looking for their third straight win while the Terriers will compete in their fourth meet of the season against CSI. Today's meet marks the first time the Dolphins have competed against a Division I program this season.

The Dolphins narrowly dropped their first meet of the 2022-2023 season against Division II Adelphi University, a meet which came down to the very last event. However, CSI has since won back-to-back meets against Division III competition over Western Connecticut State and Mount Saint Mary College. Today, they face a tough test against Division I St. Francis, but they have several of their swimmers who have given them reasons for optimism heading into today's meet. Charles Cusumano and Anthony Attenborough have contributed a combined 10 first-place finishes in individual events while Michael Graham has helped the Dolphins pile up additional points on the diving boards. The only other Dolphin with at least three first-place finishes in individual events is David Poggioli, but the CSI men have performed well as a unit in relay events thus far as well.

Today's meet makes it four straight weekends in action for the CSI men. The women will get tomorrow off before the two teams travel together to Kings Point, NY to take on the US Merchant Marine Academy next weekend.
