SWIMMING & DIVING RETURNS TO ACTION IN USMMA MEMORIAL INVITE

King's Point, NY - The College of Staten Island Swimming & Diving Team was back in action today as they participated in the USMMA Memorial Invite. For the men, today's meet marked the fifth straight week they have competed. For the women, they returned following a week off last week.

Team scores were not kept in today's meet, but the Dolphins were one of six programs that competed in today's USMMA Invite. The event featured a mix of Division II and Division III teams including CSI, USMMA, TCNJ, Adelphi, Pace and SUNY Maritime. The meet included both a men's and women's heat for each event on the program.

The Dolphins were scattered across a crowded leaderboard throughout the afternoon, but there were several standout individual performances that earned the Dolphins top three finishes in the packed field. First, William Kwan finished third in the 200-Yard IM. A short time later, Jessica Johnson also earned a third place finish in the 100-Yard Breaststroke, one of several strong efforts for her. Anthony Attenborough finished just over one second off the pace in the 100-Yard Breaststroke, good for second.

In a field of 35 in the 50-Yard Freestyle, Johnson finished fifth and Brooke Manning took tenth. Johnson then finished third in the 400-Yard IM to wrap up an impressive outing. Kwan and Attenborough also found their way onto the top of the leaderboards again as Attenborough took third in the 100-Yard Butterfly and Kwan took third in the 200-Yard Breaststroke. Lastly, Jordan Swanson added a fourth place finish in both diving events, each of which had eleven participants.

The Dolphins will have nearly two weeks off ahead of their next meet which will take place over two days on Friday December 2^nd and Saturday December 3^rd. That weekend, the Dolphins host the CSI Invite at The Tank.
