Staten Island, NY - It was a packed slate this weekend for the CSI Swimming & Diving Team as they hosted the inaugural CSI Invite.  The meet, which featured four teams, the College of St. Rose, Mount Saint Mary College, Roberts Wesleyan University, and the College of Staten Island, began on Friday evening and concluded four sessions and over 24 hours later.  Numerous pool records and program records fell throughout the two-day event, but most importantly, the Dolphins were given a chance to showcase on an elevated stage.  On the men's side, the Dolphins were awarded a banner from the East Coast Conference for their victory in the meet.  Likewise, the Redhawks were awarded a banner on behalf of the conference for their victory on the women's side.

Session 1 (Friday, 5:30 PM)
The meet opened with five events separated by a pair of 10-minute breaks on Friday beginning with the 200 Yard Freestyle Relay.  The first event of the night was won by the women of the College of St. Rose.  The Golden Knights competed closely with the Redhawks all weekend, and the two teams ultimately posted identical scores of 160 across the two days.  The CSI men notched their first win of the weekend in Friday night's first event and Jessica Johnson and Anthony Attenborough earned the Dolphins their first individual wins in the 200 Yard IM.  To close out the evening, the Dolphins also took the win in the 400 Yard Medley Relay.

Session 2 (Saturday, 9:30 AM)
Session two began with the 200 Yard Medley Relay events, both of which were won by St. Rose.  The first Dolphins win was earned by William Kwan in the 400 Yard IM and that was followed by an Attenborough win in the 100 Yard Butterfly and a Maxim Kleyer victory in the 100 Yard Backstroke.  To close out the Saturday morning session, the Dolphins took first in the 800 Yard Freestyle Relay by a wide margin continuing to build upon their points lead.

Diving Session (Saturday, 1:00 PM)
Jordan Swanson continued her impressive season with yet another top finish in the 1 Meter Diving event.  Kaylee Walter took third giving the Dolphins two of the top three spots in the six-diver field.  Michael Graham took second in both the Men's 1 Meter and 3 Meter Diving events.  Swanson finished first in 3 Meter Diving as well and Walter took third in the same event.

Session 4 (Saturday, 5:30 PM)
The first Dolphin victories in the meet's final session came in the Men's 200 Yard Backstroke.  Maxim Kleyer and Ethan Abramov finished first and second in the event continuing the strong effort for the CSI men.  Kwan then added another first-place finish to his weekend in the 200 Yard Breaststroke and Charles Cusumano posted a time of 2:00.70 as the lone participant in the 200 Yard Butterfly.  To close the meet, St. Rose took first in both 400 Yard Freestyle Relay events to earn their women a share of first place in the meet.  As for the Dolphins, the men were the overall winners of the meet with 173 points.  The CSI women finished in third with 124 points, 36 off the pace of the meet winners Roberts Wesleyan and St. Rose.

The Dolphins will have a week off ahead of the next meet one week from today.  Next Saturday they will be on the road for a meeting with Montclair State University.   The men will be competing against only Montclair while the women will be competing against both Montclair and Felician University.
