Staten Island, NY – The College of Staten Island Men's and Women's Basketball teams return to action this Saturday afternoon as they head to Bridgeport Connecticut. LAST TIME OUT
Both the Men's and Women's teams were in action on Wednesday night. They both took care of business. The CSI men's team beat Roberts Wesleyan College, 80-77. The women's team also came out victorious, as they won their respective matchup, 66-49. For the Purple Knights, both of their squads played and lost this past Wednesday. Both were against fellow ECC member, the University of the District of Columbia.
DOLPHINS TO WATCH
For the men,
Bryce Waterman and
Messiah Mallory continue to make their presence felt. Waterman leads the team in scoring at just under 14 PPG (13.9) and has been a consistent threat from deep all year shooting 39%. Mallory looks to keep up his work on the boards (9.7 RPG) and make things difficult for opponents in the paint (2 BPG). Senior guard
Austin Mick has been a calming presence for the Dolphins, as he's been their primary offensive initiator and their best perimeter defender all season long.
On the women's side,
Ashley Lambert has solidified herself as the Dolphins most consistent offensive threat. She's coming off of her second-highest scoring outing of the season (20) and her season-high in assists (5).
Gia Esposito has scored in double-digits in four of the last six games as she too looks to continue her consistent scoring after being placed back in the starting lineup.
