Game Recap: Women's Soccer |

DOLPHINS FAIL TO SCORE IN LOSS TO SETTERS, 2-0

Pleasantville, NY - The College of Staten Island Women's Soccer Team failed to score in their loss to Pace University earlier tonight as the Setters knocked off the Dolphins by a final score of 2-0.  The loss sends the Dolphins to 2-4-4 on the season while the Setters improve to 6-4-1 with the win.  The victory for Pace is their first against CSI in program history as tonight's game was the first time the two teams met.

The Dolphins struggled to generate shots early and the Setters were able to maintain constant pressure on the attack throughout the entirety of the first half.  Pace opened the game with the first 11 shots across less than 30 minutes.  However, Dolphins goalkeeper Brianna Dore was able to hold the Setters without a goal through the first 45 minutes.

The Dolphins registered just two shots, one on goal in the first half, and the disparity in possession time finally caught up with them early in the second half.  Less than seven minutes after played resumed following the intermission, Ava Viebrock, Pace's leader in goals, opened the scoring.  Five shots and 20 minutes later, the Setters scored again to take a two goal lead.  The Dolphins were held without a shot in the second half, and CSI went on to lose by a final of 2-0.

The two shots matched a season-low for the Dolphins and the team has now been held without a goal in three consecutive games.  In goal, Dore finished with 10 saves for the Dolphins, and the two CSI shots belonged to Jacquelyn D'Amico and Isabela Castro.

The Dolphins will return to conference play when they face the St. Thomas Aquinas this Saturday at noon.
