Rochester, NY - The College of Staten Island made their fourth appearance in the East Coast Conference Cross-Country Championship earlier today and placed fifth in the men's meet and eighth in the women's meet.  Several Dolphins posted career-best times as well, and multiple CSI runners placed in the top half of their respective field of competitors, both of which included at least 60 participants.  In total, five Dolphins posted the best time of their collegiate careers and three more finished in the top half of all runners.

For the CSI men, Wayne Stephenson led the way with a time of 28.38.9 in the 8K, good for 24th overall.  Jah Whyte finished behind him taking 31st with a time of 28:52.0.  On the women's side Elizabeth Nicotra also finished in the top half of the meet with a time of 21:50.6 in the 5K.  Angelina Guerriero finished closely behind Nicotra taking 33rd overall.

For the men, three Dolphins also posted the best time of their collegiate careers in the meet as Ethanael Elliott's time of 30:55.2 was tops among the CSI men who achieved career-bests.  Next in line was Matthew Amato with a time of 31:33.0 followed by Jorden Dixon with a time 32:45.1.  Ryan Tierney, Muhammed Qadri and Alan Bass rounded out the rest of the men's squad.  Both Alexandrea Jackson and Emily Matatyaev achieved personal-bests as well, and they were joined by Kafilat Yekinni to complete the women's squad.

Roberts Wesleyan won both the men's and women's meet for the ninth consecutive year.  While the Dolphins took eighth in the women's meet, they finished just a few points shy of overtaking STAC for fourth in the men's meet.  The CSI men also edged out fellow CUNY institution Queens by 13 points to finish in fifth.
