Piscataway, NJ - The College fo Staten Island Swimming & Diving Team opened the 2023 Metropolitan Conference Swimming & Diving Championship earlier tonight and set a pair of new program records.  Tonight's program featured just one event, the 800 Yard Freestyle Relay, but the Dolphins managed to set new program records on both the men's and women's side.

Tonight's meet opened with the B heat in the Women's 800 Free which featured three teams.  Next, eight women's teams took to the pool for the A heat including a Dolphins squad of Morgan Novello, Jessica Johnson, Melissa Poggioli and Katherine Ebrahim.  That unit set the first of two program records on the night with a time of 8:50.21 in the event, good for ninth overall.  Following another B heat, the men competed in the final heat of the evening, the 800 Yard Freestyle Relay A finals.  The CSI team of William Kwan, David Poggioli, Charles Cusumano, and Anthony Attenborough followed up the women's record-setting performance with a record-setting performance of their own.  The Dolphins clocked in at 7:15.75 in the event to take sixth overall.
