VIGLIOTTI DRIVES IN SIX AND KEHOE TOSSES COMPLETE GAME SHUTOUT IN DOLPHINS WIN OVER MOLLOY

Staten Island, NY – The College of Staten Island Baseball Team picked up their first-ever win against Molloy University earlier today as the Dolphins defeated the Lions by a final score of 11-0.  The win improves the Dolphins to 8-12 overall and 2-3 against the East Coast Conference.  The loss drops Molloy to 16-10 on the season and they are now 4-1 in conference play.

The Lions opened the game with a leadoff double, but they would only register three more hits the rest of the way.  CSI starter Ryan Kehoe went on to escape the first inning unscathed and the Dolphins quickly took the lead in their first turn at bat.  A.J. Vigliotti drove in the first two CSI runs with a single to give his team a 2-0 lead heading into the second.  CSI then added four more runs in the next inning to go in front by six with two coming home on a two-RBI double by Vigliotti.  Leading 6-0, Vigliotti added a two-run homer in the fourth to make it 8-0 giving him six RBI's for the game.  The Dolphins then scored three more in the sixth to make it 11-0, and Kehoe remained dominant the rest of the way to earn the complete game shutout.

Kehoe finished the game allowing just four hits in his 9 innings of work.  He struck out 11 in the game as well to earn his third win of the season in his second complete game effort.  Vigliotti was 3-4 with 6 RBI's including his third home run of the season.  Nick Cippoletti was 3-5 with an RBI and Shendi Ulaj finished 2-5 with an RBI and two runs scored.

With tomorrow's doubleheader canceled due to inclement weather, the series between the Dolphins and the Lions will continue on Sunday at noon with a doubleheader to be played at the CSI Baseball Complex.  The Dolphins will be the home team in a nine inning game one and will be the road team in the seven inning game two.
