DOLPHINS ACHIEVE SEVERAL PERSONAL-BESTS ON THE TRACK AT TCNJ INVITATIONAL

Ewing, NJ - The College of Staten Island Outdoor Track & Field Team participated in their third meet of the season earlier today as they traveled to Ewing, NJ to compete in the TCNJ Invitational.  Once again, the Dolphins earned a first place finish at the event, and several more Dolphins achieved personal-bests.  For the Dolphins, every athlete that competed in at least one Track event achieved a personal-best at today's meet.

For the third time in as many meets since the Outdoor season began, Jazmine Severo took first place in the High-Jump.  The East Coast Conference Weekly Honor Roll selection once again achieved a height of 1.62m in the event.  In throws Skylar Pointer and Aryanna Finkelstein both competed in the Shot Put achieving distances of 10.51m and 9.67m respectively.  Pointer also competed in the Hammer Throw achieving a distance of 33.58m in that event.  Also in the field, Stephen Andes competed in the Long Jump and hit a distance of 4.87m in the event.

Every Dolphin who competed in a Track event during today's meet achieved at least one personal-best time in the squad's most impressive showing of the season.  For the CSI women, Precious Dillon set a new personal-best mark in the 100-Meter Dash with a time of 14.17s.  Angelina Guerriero also achieved a personal-best for the CSI women with a time of 1:08.23 in the 400-Meter Dash, one of two events she competed in on the day.  For the CSI men, Omar Sheriff set two personal-bests, one in the 100-Meter Dash and another in the 200-Meter Dash.  In sprints, both Jamel Reynolds and Muhammed Qadri achieved a personal-best time in the 400-Meter Dash.  Lastly, Matthew Amato topped his best time in the 800-Meter Run.

The Dolphins will look to carry their momentum from this week's meet into next weekend's Bill Butler Invite.  The fourth meet of the season for Outdoor Track & Field will take place next Saturday, April 15th.
