Game Recap: Women's Soccer |

DOLPHINS EARN DRAW ON THE ROAD AGAINST NEW HAVEN, 1-1

West Haven, CT - The College of Staten Island Women's Soccer Team earned a draw on the road against the University of New Haven earlier tonight as the two teams finished their non-conference match tied 1-1.  The Dolphins took the lead early on Isabella Radovini's third goal of the season, but 30 minutes later the Chargers would draw even.  Neither team scored the rest of the way in a very evenly matched game, and the two sides were forced to settle for a draw.  The Dolphins end the night 0-8-3 and the Chargers finish the evening 3-6-4.

Radovini put the Dolphins in front in the eleventh minute as she found the back of the net for the third time this season.  Continuing to make an impact since joining the CSI lineup, Klarissa Melgoza picked up the assist on the goal, her first of the season.  With less than five minutes to go until halftime, the Chargers got even on their fourth shot of the match with a goal by Madison Maxwell.   Each team would finish the first 45 minutes with four shot attempts and the game reached halftime tied 1-1.

The Chargers came out of halftime strong and registered the first seven shots following the break.  Of the seven, four were on target and saved by CSI goalkeeper Oksana Zahirna.  Remarkably, the Chargers would not attempt another shot for the remainder of the match and the CSI attack seized control the rest of the way.  The Dolphins would attempt the final six shots of the game, all during the final eleven minutes.  However, New Haven goalkeeper Caitlin Daley stopped the four shots that the Dolphins put on target and the match ended in a 1-1 draw.

Radovini led the Dolphins with six shots, four on target, in 71 minutes.  Jenna Como also tallied multiple shots finishing with a pair, one on target.  Emily Albano, Arielle Uy and Megan Meagher all played 90 minutes for the Dolphins along with Zahirna.  The CSI goalkeeper finished with six saves as did her counterpart Daley on the other side.

The Dolphins will return home on Saturday when they will host D'Youville University.  Ten Dolphins will be recognized ahead of kickoff as part of a Senior Day pregame ceremony.  It will also be Staten Island Soccer Club Day at the CSI Outdoor Track & Field Complex.
