DOLPHINS PLACE 7TH IN MEN'S AND WOMEN'S MEET AT 2024 ECC CROSS-COUNTRY CHAMPIONSHIP

Williamsville, NY - The College of Staten Island Cross-Country Team participated in the 2024 East Coast Conference Cross-Country Championship earlier today placing 7th in both the men's and women's meet.  The meet began with the women's 5K in which the Dolphins totaled 205 points.  This put them a bit over 20 points behind the pace set by Queens College.  The CSI men totaled 179 points, 37 behind the pace set by sixth-place D'Youville Univeristy.  For the tenth straight season, Roberts Wesleyan University took the win in both the men's and women's meet.

In the women's 5K, Angelina Guerriero led the way for the Dolphins with a time of 22:10.6.  Not far behind were three more Dolphins, Elizabeth Nicotra, Alexandrea Jackson and Adonijah Washington.  All four of those runners placed between 40 and 50 in the field of over 60.  Camryn Koch, Mellanie Islas and Mary-Lee Mitchell rounded out the largest squad that the Dolphins have competed with this season.  For Islas, Koch and Washington, their times during today's meet all represented a career-best in the 5K.

In the 8K, the Dolphins were led by Wayne Stephenson who placed 21st overall with a time of 28:04.9.  Finishing within seconds of one another were Kelon Martin, and Matthew Amato and Maxwell MingAdam Mohamed was then followed by the trio of Shawn Rampadarathsing, Pedro Astudillo, and Stephen LauJamel Reynolds then rounded out the squad of nine CSI runners.  For the CSI men, Ming and Lau both posted times that were career-bests.
