4/20/2024 11:30:00 PM

Lawrence Township, NJ - The College of Staten Island Track & Field Team set two more program records this weekend at the Rider Invite as the CSI men saw two longstanding program records fall during today's meet.  In addition to the two records set by the CSI men, the CSI women also earned a top-five finish and a second finish in the top ten.

The first of the two records to fall in today's meet was the 400-Meter Dash.  Posting a time of 50.35s, Steven Elcock narrowly bested a record previously held by Jared Nusser that was set all the way back in the 2019 season.  Elcock, who also competed in the 200-Meter Dash today, took sixth in the 400-Meter, the highest placement for the CSI men.  In the field, Dominik Hric set a new program record for the CSI men in the Hammer with a distance of 29.18m.

For the CSI women, Inioluwa Ogunfowora placed fifth in the 100-Meter Dash and seventh in the 200-Meter Dash.  In the 100-Meter, she was joined in the top half of the field by Precious Dillon and Zahriyah Kerr who took 16th and 20th respectively.  In the field, Ava Thompson finished just outside of the top ten in the Discus taking 12th.  She also competed alongside Skylar Pointer and Aryanna Finkelstein in the Hammer.

The Outdoor Track & Field Team has one meet remaining ahead of the East Coast Conference Championship next weekend at the Penn Relays.
