TRACK & FIELD SETS TWO RECORDS IN FINAL OUTINGS AHEAD OF ECC CHAMPIONSHIP

The College of Staten Island Track & Field Team set two more program records this weekend at the at the WCU Tune Up and Penn Relays in their last outing ahead of the East Coast Conference Championship.  Two records were set in the field as both the men's and women's Discus record fell in Friday's meet.  The CSI women also set a new season-best with their time in the 4x400 Relay.

Jamel Reynolds and Ava Thompson delivered the two record-setting efforts for the Dolphins in the Discus with distances of 21.86m and 34.83m respectively.  As for the 4x400 Relay for the women, they clocked in with a time of 4:20:00, their best effort of the 2024 Outdoor season.  The CSI women also earned a pair of top-5 finishes in the 100-Meter as Precious Dillon and Zahriyah Kerr took fourth and fifth respectively.  In the field, Skylar Pointer took second in the Shot Put with a distance of 10.87m.  Thompson's record-setting effort in the Discus was also good for second while Pointer took sixth in the same event.  The top finish for the CSI men belonged to Wayne Stephenson who took eighth place in the 800-Meter.

The Outdoor Track & Field Team will next be in action on Thursday at the East Coast Conference Outdoor Track & Field Championship.
