5/10/2024 11:00:00 PM

Mahwah, NJ - The College of Staten Island Track & Field Team participated in their final meet of the 2024 season this evening as they took part in the Last Chance Twilight hosted by Ramapo College.  The meet was highlighted for the Dolphins by several personal-bests and four top-5 finishes across three different events.  Among the standout efforts for the Dolphins was one new program record set by Alexandrea Jackson in the 400-Meter Hurdles.

The first of the personal-bests for the Dolphins came in the 200-Meter as Dominic Babilonia, Chris Cardozo, and Jamel Reynolds posted their best collegiate times in the eventDominik Hric also set a personal record in the 100-Meter, and for the CSI women Elizabeth Nicotra achieved a personal best in the 800-Meter.  In the field, Angelina Guerriero also logged a personal best in the Long Jump.

In addition to the series of personal-best performances, the Dolphins also collected four finishes in the top five across three different events.  In the 100-Meter Vincent Ohenhen took second for the men and Inioluwa Ogunfowora took third for the women.  Nicotra's performance in the 800-Meter was good for third and Jackson took fifth in Hurdles.

Full results from tonight's meet can be found below.  As for CSI Track & Field, tonight's outing is the last of the 2024 season.  The team rewrote the record books in 2023-2024 and added six more ECC All-Conference selections at this year's Outdoor conference championship.  At the conclusion of their first full season under the leadership of a new coaching staff, the team is left with plenty more to look forward to next season.  Several of the team's Track & Field athletes will return to compete in Cross-Country later this year before the Indoor Track & Field season begins in late-2024.  Growing in numbers and in available on-campus facilities this season, the team's performance this year more than lived up to the increase in resources available to the program.
