Game Recap: Women's Soccer |

RADOVINI SCORES FIRST GOAL OF 2024 IN DRAW AGAINST FELICIAN, 1-1

Rutherford, NJ - The College of Staten Island Women's Soccer Team played their first road game of the 2024 season earlier today as they battled Felician University to a 1-1 draw.  The Dolphins Dolphins opened the scoring with a goal in the second minute by Isabella Radovini, her first of the season.  The Golden Falcons would then go on to net the equalizer early in the second half when Cynthia Amankwaa scored in the 59th minute.  Despite a total of 27 shots between the two sides, the 1-1 score would stand the rest of the way.  The draw moves Felician to 0-0-2 and the Dolphins finish the day 0-1-1.  The all-time series between the two teams still favors the Dolphins who have won twice along with a pair of draws.

Radovini wasted no time putting CSI on the board as she scored her first goal of the season less than two minutes after kickoff.  The two teams would combine to attempt 15 shots in the half with the most notable attempt for Felician hitting the crossbar.  This was the first of three shots that would connect with the crossbar for the Golden Falcons including two more in the second half.  However, the Dolphins took a one goal lead into the break behind four saves from Briana Dore.

Early in the second half, each team attempted just a single shot during the opening minutes, but it was Felician that struck first on a game-tying goal by Amankwaa.  This was the second of eight shots for the Golden Falcons in the half, four of which were saved by Dore.  Meanwhile, the Dolphins added another four shots of their own during the final 45 minutes.  Just two of those were on goal and Felician goalkeeper Zoe Pite did not allow another score the rest of the way.

Radovini led the Dolphins with five shots, all of which were on goal.  Caitlyn Thompson added three shots as well with two on goal.  Dore finished with eight saves for the Dolphins allowing just the single goal.  Though Felician held a 16-9 advantage in shot total, both teams finished the match with five shots on goal.

The Dolphins will next take the pitch at home on Wednesday when they face Dominican University of New York.  That match will open a doubleheader on Wednesday afternoon with a scheduled kickoff time of 1:00 PM.
