STATEN ISLAND, NY – The College of Staten Island men's basketball team returns to non-conference action this week, beginning with a home matchup against Wilmington University (Del.) on Wednesday evening at the Tank.

The all-time series between the two programs is tied at 1–1, with the Dolphins claiming last season's meeting in decisive fashion, 99–75. CSI led by 10 at halftime before pulling away behind strong performances from Aaron Goldstein and JJ Chestnut. Goldstein finished with 19 points and three assists, while Chestnut added 11 points and six assists to help secure the Dolphins' first-ever win over the Wildcats. CSI shot efficiently in the contest, connecting on 54% from the field and 51% from three-point range, compared to Wilmington's 38% shooting overall and 39% from beyond the arc.

This season, the Dolphins enter the week with a 7–4 overall record, while the Wildcats sit at 5–5. Wilmington carries a two-game winning streak into the matchup after victories over Goldey-Beacom and Pace and four of the Wildcats' games this season have gone to overtime, with the team posting a 2–2 record in those contests.

Both teams feature balanced scoring, with five players averaging double figures. Goldstein leads CSI with 20.0 points per game, followed by Chestnut at 11.9. Asa Kone has made a significant impact in recent games and is tied with Eric Tynes for third on the team at 11.6 points per contest. Tynes has been especially effective from long range, knocking down 14 three-pointers over the last three games, including seven against Cheyney (Pa.) on Dec. 8. Mitchell Wiggan rounds out the Dolphins' double-digit scorers at 10.0 points per game. Wilmington's offense is led by a top scorer averaging 18.1 points per game, with four additional players contributing between 11.1 and 14.0 points per contest.
