PLEASANTVILLE, NY – The College of Staten Island women's basketball team heads to Pleasantville, NY on Saturday afternoon for a non-conference matchup against Pace University, marking the fifth consecutive meeting between the two programs.

Last season's contest went to overtime at the Tank, where the Dolphins pulled out a 66–64 victory after outscoring the Setters 8–6 in the extra period. Kyra Rose was a key contributor in the 2024 contest and is the lone returner from that game who finished as a prime performer with 17 points and three rebounds.

The all-time series between CSI and Pace is knotted at 2–2, with the two teams trading wins since their first meeting in 2021. Pace claimed the inaugural game with a 75–52 victory, followed by a 54–50 Dolphins win the next season, as the series has remained evenly contested.

Entering Saturday's game, the Dolphins hold a 4–7 record, one game ahead of the Setters, who sit at 4–6. Both teams have faced several common opponents this season, including Franklin Pierce, Adelphi, Mercy, and American International. Each program recorded a 20-point victory over Franklin Pierce early in the season, while Pace earned a 58–45 win over Mercy compared to CSI's 71–52 setback. However, momentum shifted Wednesday night when the Dolphins secured a buzzer beating win over AIC, while the Setters fell 88–67, setting the stage for an evenly matched contest.

Rose continues to pace the Dolphins, averaging 12.9 points and a team-high 8.3 rebounds per game. Shonyae Edmonds follows with 12.4 points per contest and ranks second on the team with 7.3 rebounds per game. Racky Kane, fresh off her buzzer-beating tip-in against AIC on December 17, is third on the team with 11.9 points per game and leads CSI with 11 blocks. Pace features two double-digit scorers, led by a team-high 14.9 points per game, followed by 11.5.
