GAMEDAY: MEN'S BASKETBALL HOSTS MERCY IN MATCHUP WITH BIG PLAYOFF IMPLICATIONS

Staten Island, NY - The College of Staten Island Men's Basketball Team will host a matchup with big playoff implications at The Tank tonight when they face Mercy University at 7:30 PM. The Dolphins enter tonight's game with a record of 9–14 on the season and a conference record of 5–6. The Mavericks are 5–15 on the year and 4–7 against the ECC. When the two teams met earlier this season, the Dolphins had their best offensive effort of the season in a 106–89 victory. The Dolphins have also had a great deal of recent success against the Mavericks with wins in each of the last four meetings. In all four those games, the Dolphins have scored 81 points or more. Currently, the Dolphins occupy the fifth playoff spot in the ECC with a record of 5–6 in conference play. The Mavericks are just one game behind CSI at 4–7, but if Mercy loses tonight, the Dolphins will secure any future tiebreaker. A CSI win would also place the Dolphins much more firmly in the conference playoff picture. A loss could potentially see three separate teams end the day tied in the conference standings at 5–7.
