GAMEDAY: MEN'S BASKETBALL FACES STAC WITH PLAYOFF RACE IN FULL SWING

Sparkill, NY - The College of Staten Island Men's Basketball Team will be on the road this afternoon for a huge late-season conference matchup with the Spartans of St. Thomas Aquinas College at 4:00 PM. The Dolphins enter the day 9-15 on the season and 5-7 in conference play following a heartbreaking loss to Mercy University on Wednesday night. The Spartans come in 17-8 on the year and 9-3 against the ECC. When the two teams met at The Tank last month, the Spartans defeated the Dolphins by a final score of 92-64. This win was the eighth straight for STAC against the Dolphins, and CSI has not beaten the Spartans since their move to Division II in 2019. Despite their loss to the Mavericks earlier in the week, the Dolphins still occupy the fifth seed in the ECC and could potentially move as high as the third seed. This would afford them the opportunity to host the first Division II playoff home game in the history of CSI Athletics. Meanwhile, the Spartans are on the verge of locking up the second seed in the conference and can move to within one win of doing so with a victory over the Dolphins.
