GAMEDAY: MEN'S BASKETBALL HOSTS UDC LOOKING TO IGNITE PLAYOFF PUSH ON ALUMNI DAY

Staten Island, NY - The College of Staten Island Men's Basketball Team will be looking to ignite a playoff push this afternoon when they host the University of the District of Columbia at 1:00 PM. The team will host the Matty White Alumni Game ahead of their matchup with the Firebirds at approximately 11:00 AM, and the Dolphins will be faced with a pivotal conference game as they look to begin a push towards the postseason. The Dolphins enter the day 8–14 on the season and 4–6 in conference play. The Firebirds come in 4–14 on the year and 2–8 against the ECC. When the two teams met earlier this season, the Dolphins picked up a six-point win, 84-78. The Dolphins win tied the all-time series at four games apiece and extended the CSI winning streak against the Firebirds to three straight games. Entering action today, the Dolphins are a half game behind a trio of 4–5 teams in the ECC standings and are currently just outside of a playoff spot with six games remaining. Currently eighth in the conference standings, the Firebirds are in desperate need of a win to bolster their chances of reaching the postseason.
