MEETDAY: TRACK & FIELD COMPETES AT 2025 PENN RELAYS

Philadelphia, PA - The College of Staten Island Track & Field Team will send nine student-athletes to the Penn Relays today as the Dolphins compete for the final time ahead of the 2025 East Coast Conference Outdoor Track & Field Championship.  The Penn Relays are the oldest track meet in the world, and the Dolphins will be competing for the second consecutive year.

Seven men and four women will be competing in the Penn Relays for the Dolphins this year.  On the men's side, Steven Elcock, Sam Whelan, Nicholas Runfola, Zayden Williams, Vincent Ohenhen, Ibrahima Diallo, and Josmy Cerda will compete.  For the women, Inioluwa Ogunfowora, Adonijah Washington, Alexandrea Jackson, and Precious Dillon will compete.  Washington will also become the first-ever Dolphin to compete individually at the Penn Relays as she continues her record-breaking and milestone-setting freshman campaign.

The last outing for the Dolphins was their first-ever appearance in the Rider Invite with members of the Throws unit competing on Friday and the rest of the Dolphins arriving on Saturday.  Four Dolphins achieved season bests during the meet, and four more achieved PR's including two program records.

Among the Dolphins who achieved season best times on the track and one more achieved a PR in the field during the two-day meet.  In the 200-Meter, Ogunfowora posted a time of 26.93s.  In the 400-Meter, both Karran Riley and Elcock achieved personal best times of 50.70s and 51.12s respectively.  In the Hammer Throw, Dominik Hric posted a distance of 28.46m, his best of the season.

In addition to the four season's best times and distances for the Dolphins, four more Dolphins achieved personal records in the meet.  In the 1500, Cerda posted a time of 4:11.81 and Wayne Stephenson posted a time of 4:11.14.  For Stephenson, the time was one of two program records set by the Dolphins in the meet.  The second came in the 400-Meter as Diallo posted a time 50.00s.  Finally, Tacia Marshall added one final PR in the field as she posted a distance of 27.13m in the Hammer Throw.
