MEETDAY: CROSS-COUNTRY BEGINS 2025 SEASON AT LIU FALL FESTIVAL

9/6/2025 7:00:00 AM

Brookville, NY - The College of Staten Island Cross-Country program will look to follow up a record-setting 2024 when they open the 2025 campaign today at the LIU Fall Festival. Today's meet will mark the beginning of a five-meet schedule for the program that carries them through the end of October at the ECC Cross-Country Championship. There is also the potential for a trip to NCAA Regionals following the conference championship should any Dolphins qualify. Coming off a record setting season last year, the 2025 Dolphins return many of the runners from last year's squad. However, they did graduate seniors Wayne StephensonAlexandrea Jackson, and more last year. The program enters the upcoming season looking to ignite a rise up the ECC ranks and will seek to continue re-writing the record books.

The Dolphins compete in the LIU Fall Festival for the first time during today's meet, and the outing will see several new Dolphins make their program debut.  Ten new Dolphins have joined the program for the 2025 season, and this group will look to continue the record-setting precedent set by the program during their time at the Division II level.  Among the returners who have posted top 25 times in Cross-Country program history are Angelina Guerriero and Elizabeth Nicotra.  Track & Field record holders Jeremiah Downer and Josmy Cerda will also compete for the Cross-Country squad this year,  For more on the 2025 Dolphins, check out our season preview below.
