Greenvale, NY - The College of Staten Island Cross-Country Team opened the 2025 at yesterday's LIU Fall Festival and one new Dolphin came within seconds of setting a new CSI program record.  Adriana Roa finished 15 seconds off a record-setting pace in the 5K for the women with a time of 20:44.89.  This was good for a top-10 finish in a field of over 40 runners.  In the meet, the men placed 6th overall as a team and the women placed 4th.

Roa set the pace for the CSI women with her top-10 time, and she competed alongside four more Dolphins in the meet.  Also making their CSI debuts were Anna Carafiol, Mahawa Kouyate, and Jacqueline Washington.  The trio of freshmen posted times of 24:09.90, 25:09.46, and 25:31.86 respectively.  Sophomore Adonijah Washington rounded out the squad of five for the women and posted a time of 27:08.64.

The CSI men were paced by the debuting Peter Galletta with a time of 30:42.83.  Also running in their first appearance for the Dolphins were Jehu Ermilus and Jude Adinnu.  They posted times of 32:13.72 and 45:11.09 respectively.  Finally, returners Matthew Amato, Walter Gavilanes and Pedro Astudillo competed for the CSI men to complete their team of six runners.
