BRONX, NY – The College of Staten Island women's cross country team competed at the Queensborough Invitational at Van Cortlandt Park in the Bronx on Sunday afternoon.

The Dolphins made their second appearance of the 2026 season after a two-week hiatus from competition, but the time off did not slow down the momentum of the program. The women's squad captured the overall team victory with a score of 81, finishing ahead of 17 other teams.

Ariana Roa secured her second consecutive overall individual victory, crossing the finish line first with a time of 20:22.44. Her performance at Van Cortlandt Park also broke an 18-year-old CSI women's cross country course record, giving Roa a new place in the program's record book.

Following Roa, the next five Dolphins all finished inside the top 50. Racquel Pasco finished in 10th place with a time of 22:38.96, followed by Kayla Larsen in 16th at 23:02.28. Aurelia James crossed the finish line in 20th place with a time of 23:20.94, while Awa Jammeh made her collegiate debut and finished 42nd with a time of 25:23.24. Alexis Doyle was the final Dolphin finisher to contribute to the team victory, crossing the finish line in 26:10.37. The Dolphins competed against a field of 131 runners.

On the men's side, the Dolphins competed in an 8K race and finished second overall with a team score of 124. Nicholas Allegretti led CSI with a personal-best performance in his rookie season, finishing 14th with a time of 30:32.61. Peter Galletta finished right behind him in 15th place at 30:35.34.

Kevin Deyo and Luca Schelling also finished back-to-back, with Deyo crossing the finish line in 26th place at 31:43.44 and Schelling finishing 27th at 31:46.53. The remaining Dolphin finishers were Jehu Ermilus (33:10.11), Walter Gavilanes (33:34.49), Caleb Campbell (34:45.73), and Darwin Lin (37:29.04).

The College of Staten Island men's and women's cross country teams will return to action on Saturday, October 10, when they compete at the Highlander Invitational in Newark, NJ.
