STATEN ISLAND, NY – The College of Staten Island men's basketball team will play its final two regular-season games over the upcoming week, beginning Sunday afternoon when the Dolphins host Roberts Wesleyan University at 3:00 PM.

On Wednesday night, CSI appeared in the alphabetical listing of the NCAA Division II Men's Basketball East Regional Rankings, marking another step toward a potential bid to the national tournament and the program's first-ever appearance at the NCAA Division II championship stage.

Jan. 23, 2026 Matchup – First-Half Surge Propels Dolphins to Victory

In the first meeting between the teams this season, the Dolphins dominated the opening half, building a 53-32 advantage by halftime. Eric Tynes and Aaron Goldstein fueled the offensive surge, combining for 10 three-pointers as part of CSI's 12 total from beyond the arc to secure the East Coast Conference (ECC) victory. Roberts Wesleyan outscored the Dolphins 41-40 in the second half, but CSI's 19-point halftime cushion proved too much to overcome as the Dolphins held on for the win.

Tynes led all scorers with 19 points, while Goldstein followed with 18 and added a team-high five assists. Asa Kone contributed 14 points, and Mitchell Wiggan recorded a double-double with 11 points and 12 rebounds.

CSI's January victory extended its winning streak to three straight games against the Redhawks. The Dolphins went 2-1 in the 2023-24 season, with their final win that year advancing the team to the semifinal round of the ECC postseason tournament.

Wiggan is tied with Chestnut at 12.1 points per game and recently delivered a career-high performance with 26 points against the Firebirds on Feb. 14. Kone follows closely at 12.0 points per game, while Tynes rounds out the Dolphins' double-digit scorers at 10.8 points per game.
