STATEN ISLAND, NY –  The College of Staten Island women's basketball team has just two regular-season home games remaining on its 2025–26 schedule, beginning Sunday afternoon when the Dolphins host Roberts Wesleyan University at 11:00 AM in The Tank.

Jan. 24, 2026 Meeting Summary – Free Throws Lift Redhawks

CSI traveled to Rochester on Jan. 24 for the first regular-season matchup between the two teams. The Redhawks held a 22-17 lead after the opening quarter, but the Dolphins responded in the second period to take a 41-38 advantage into halftime. An even 14-14 third quarter kept CSI in front, 55-52, entering the final frame. In the closing moments, however, Roberts Wesleyan converted two critical free throws to secure its first East Coast Conference (ECC) victory of the season, edging the Dolphins 75-74.

Kyra Rose led CSI with a double-double of 20 points and 11 rebounds while adding four assists and two steals. Dana Phelan followed with 19 points, shooting 50% (8-for-16) from the field, and recorded a team-high three steals. Giulana Dito paced the Dolphins from beyond the arc with three three-pointers, finishing with 13 points and five assists.

The Battle for the ECC Postseason

After Wednesday night's conference games, CSI moved into the sixth seed in the ECC standings and is currently tied with Queens College at 4-9 in conference play. The Dolphins are aiming to maintain their position as they pursue a fourth consecutive ECC postseason appearance. Roberts Wesleyan enters the matchup with a 1-12 conference record and currently sits last in the ECC standings.

Individual Scoring Comparison

Rose leads the Dolphins with 14.0 points per game and enters Sunday just 12 points shy of the 1,000-point milestone. The senior also leads the team with 7.8 rebounds per game while shooting 45% (112-for-249) from the field. Shonyae Edmonds ranks second on the team with 10.7 points per game and averages 7.7 rebounds, placing sixth in the ECC rebounding standings, just behind Rose in fifth. Phelan rounds out CSI's double-digit scorers with 10.3 points per game, marking a career-high scoring average for the senior.

The Redhawks are also led by three players averaging double figures, paced by 13.6 points per game, followed by 13.0 and 12.6.
