MANHATTAN, NY – The College of Staten Island baseball team will host its first game of the season at Robertson Field on the campus of Columbia University on Saturday afternoon, taking on Caldwell University in a 7/7 non-conference doubleheader beginning at noon.

Series History - Cougars Leading The All-Time Series

The Dolphins and Cougars have met 16 times in the all-time series. Fourteen of those matchups have occurred during CSI's Division II era, while the other two meetings date back to the 1998 and 1999 seasons.

Most recently, the teams faced each other five times in 2025, with Caldwell winning all five contests to build a five-game win streak in the series. CSI's last victory over the Cougars came in 2024 when the Dolphins powered their way to a 17–6 win.

In the most recent doubleheader during the 2025 stretch, the Dolphins dropped both games by scores of 6–0 and 11–4. In the opener, CSI recorded five hits but was unable to push a run across the plate. In game two, Caldwell jumped out to a 7–0 lead before the Dolphins got on the board in the fourth inning with a pair of RBI at-bats. CSI added runs in the fifth and sixth innings but could not complete the comeback.

Record Comparison

The Dolphins enter Saturday's doubleheader with a 2–4 record after splitting a midweek series against opponents from the Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference on Thursday.

Caldwell, meanwhile, is off to an 0–3 start after being swept in a three-game series by West Virginia State University to begin its season.
