FLEMINGTON, NJ – The College of Staten Island baseball team travels to Flemington, NJ, on Thursday morning for a single-game matchup against Holy Family University at Diamond Nation. The contest marks CSI's second game since returning from Spring Training. The Dolphins fell to Chestnut Hill College on Feb. 28 and enter play at 1-3 overall.

Mar. 9, 2025 Recap – Dolphins Split with Tigers

Earlier this season, the Dolphins split a doubleheader with the Tigers, earning a 9-1 victory in Game One before falling 4-3 in Game Two.

In the opener, Alex Martinez secured his first win of the season, striking out seven while the CSI pitching staff limited the Tigers to just one run. The Dolphins jumped out early, scoring three runs in the first inning following a Michael Flashner walk, then added three more in the fourth to take a 6-0 lead. CSI tacked on two additional runs and cruised to a 9-1 win.

Game Two saw the Tigers score twice in the bottom of the first. The Dolphins answered in the third when Flashner crossed the plate on an RBI single. Holy Family extended its lead with single runs in the fourth and fifth innings to go ahead 4-1. CSI plated one run in each of the final two innings but came up just short, 4-3, resulting in the split.

Record Comparison

Holy Family opened its season on Feb. 14 with a three-game series against Shepherd University in Morgantown, WV, and currently holds a 3-9 record through nine games.

The Dolphins sit at 1-3, with early-season weather cancellations limiting their schedule. CSI's lone win came in its season opener, a 9-5 victory over Southern Connecticut State University.
