DOBBS FERRY, NY – The College of Staten Island baseball team returned to Dobbs Ferry on Sunday afternoon for the final game of its series against Mercy University at Mercy Field.
After sweeping the Mavericks on Senior Day Friday, the Dolphins were held scoreless in a 7-0 loss to close out the series. CSI now stands at 13-26 overall and 8-18 in East Coast Conference (ECC) play.
The Dolphins had a key opportunity in the top of the fifth inning, trailing 2-0 with runners on second and third following a Vincent Weigele single and a Brandon Bartick double, but were unable to capitalize.
Mercy extended its lead to 7-0 by the eighth inning. During the frame, Jack Kehoe recorded his 100th career hit, moving Jamel Vera into scoring position, but CSI could not generate a rally.
Kehoe led the Dolphins with two hits, reaching the milestone in his sophomore season. Weigele, Bartick, Vera, Tommy Bressmer, and Jason Romance each added a hit. Nick Pusinelli started on the mound, pitching 5.1 innings with three strikeouts, while Alex Martinez recorded two strikeouts in relief.
The Dolphins will return to action for their final series of the 2026 regular season against Molloy University in Rockville Centre, NY, beginning Thursday with a single game at 3:30 PM.
