TRACK AND FIELD COMPETES AT URSINUS SPRINGFEST; FOUR WOMEN'S RECORDS FALL

COLLEGEVILLE, PA – The College of Staten Island men's and women's outdoor track and field teams competed on day two of the Ursinus Springfest on Saturday, continuing their strong early-season progress. The men recorded multiple personal bests, while the women set four new school records.

Angelina Guerriero continued her standout start to the outdoor season, recording her second school record in as many meets. After setting the program mark in the 3,000m steeplechase last week, she reset her own school record in the javelin on Saturday with a throw of 33.86 meters, finishing fourth overall in the event.

Adonijah Washington delivered a historic performance, setting two school records, one in the field and one on the track. She earned the highest finish of the day for CSI with a second-place result in the long jump, posting a distance of 5.44 meters, a mark that ranks among the top in Division II. She later placed fourth in the 200m dash with a record-breaking time of 25.66.

Jacqueline Washington accounted for the final school record on the women's side, clocking a time of 1:01.97 in the 400m dash. In the same event, Mahwah Kouyate posted a personal best time of 1:06.92. Zaria Dinkins added to the strong showing in the field with a personal best throw of 26.49 meters in the discus.

On the men's side, the Dolphins totaled six personal best performances. Karran Riley ran a personal best 22.35 in the 200m dash, while Christopher O'Brien posted a time of 51.68 in the 400m. In the 800m, Peter Galletta (2:14.22) and Kevin Deyo (2:24.56) each recorded top times. Jehu Ermilus led CSI in the 1,500m with a personal best of 4:39.57, and Pedro Astudillo rounded out the day with a personal best time of 19:47.00 in the 5,000m.

The Dolphins will return to competition on Saturday, April 11, at the Rutgers Relays.
