COLLEGE OF STATEN ISLAND ATHLETICS

Camello Vanloo

One of the College's newest coaching hires, Camello Vanloo has plenty of ties to the Cheerleading squad at CSI.  An accomplished cheerleader his whole life, Vanloo helped organize the Cheer program in 2009 as a CSI student after the Cheerleading program at the school disbanded in 2004.  Vanloo served as a student Club Coach his initial season, while captaining the squad until his senior season in 2012.

He parlayed those coaching efforts into a head coach position for the Cheer and STUNT teams at New Dorp High School in Staten Island from 2010-12, and then became the Cheerleading and STUNT Coach at Port Richmond High School on Staten Island in April of 2013, continuing in that position alongside his duties at CSI.

Vanloo's cheerleading instruction does not end there.  He is a STUNT Official for USA Cheer, where he helps enforce and govern regulations of the game as commissioned by USA Cheer and has helped score numerous regional and national cheer events.  He is also an Instructor with Elite Cheerleading Inc., where he travels extensively throughout the country to instruct at camps attended by up to 800 participants.  In March of 2012, Vanloo was selected to instruct with the National Cheerleaders Association in Garland, Texas.
