CSI Blanks York, 8-0

Gabriela Romero scored her first goal of the season in Saturday's 8-0 win over York College.
Box Score STATEN ISLAND - Records continue to be broken for the College of Staten Island women's soccer team, as it remains undefeated after defeating York, 8-0, Saturday.
 
With the victory, the Dolphins (7-0-1) extended their school-record unbeaten streak to seven and handed the Cardinals (1-6-0) their second conference loss of the season.
 
Danielle Alexandrini wasted no time putting the Dolphins on the board when in the third minute of play she took a shot from the left side of the penalty box that hit off the crossbar and rebound into the goal.
 
At the eight-minute mark, Samantha Wysokowski headed a pass into the goal off a pass from teammate Demi-Jean Martorano. Just 30-seconds later, Martorano scored a goal of her own when teammate Melissa Gelardi drove down field and slipped a pass to Martorano. The senior forward nailed a shot into the net.
 
During the 22nd minute, Wysokowski got her second goal of the game when she capitalized on Gelardi sent a cross to her in the box.
 
Mateamarie Denoble scored her second goal of the season at the 31-minute mark. Gabriela Ramero drove up field and sent a pass to Denoble in the box. The junior took the shot from the middle and slipped it past the goal keep to give the Dolphins a 5-0 lead at the half.
 
In the 59th minute, junior Ashley Albanese played a ball downfield to junior Natalie Tombasco. A shot up the middle by Tombasco put CSI up, 6-0.
 
Gabriela Romero scored her first goal of the season at the 69-minute mark when she slotted the ball past the goalkeeper on an assist from Deanna Kvetkoff.
 
In the final seconds of play, Martorano got her second goal of the afternoon on a Romero pass. Martorano's goal pushed the final score to, 8-0.
 
The Dolphins will host conference-foe, Brooklyn College for a 5 p.m. match, Tues., Sept. 24.
