STATEN ISLAND, NY – The College of Staten Island women's soccer team will play its final non-conference matchup of the season on Wednesday evening in Pleasantville, NY, against Pace University. This marks the third consecutive October meeting between the two programs and the Setters hold a 2-0 all-time series lead, having kept the Dolphins scoreless in both previous contests.
In the 2024 meeting in Staten Island, the Dolphins dropped 3-0 in the day while the Setters tallied one in the first and two in the second for the non-conference victory.
Rookie, Annika Jurik, currently leads the team with eight points on four goals this season, followed closely by Caitlyn Thompson with five points on two goals and one assist. Dolphin goalkeepers Brianna Dore and Oksana Zahirna continue to make their mark in the CSI Women's Soccer record book with standout single-game performances. Zahirna holds the top spot with 22 saves against Saint Michael's earlier this year and ranks third with 18 saves against No. 16 Mercy last Saturday. Dore, who has steadily climbed the program's single-season saves list each year, recorded 14 saves in the Senior Day shutout versus Queens (NY).
The Setters are led by three double-digit point scorers this season and have relied on their lone goalkeeper, who has recorded 63 saves so far.
