DOLPHINS KEEP ROLLING, DEFEAT ROSEMONT, 3-1

Rosemont, PA | The top three scorers for the Dolphins each scored a goal tonight to keep Staten Island rolling.  Staten Island extended their win streak to five in a row and improved to 11-3 overall while the Ravens of Rosemont College dropped to 3-10.

The high-powered offense of the Dolphins was held scoreless in the opening stanza.  CSI came into tonight's game ranked as the top scoring team in the nation, scoring over four goals per game. Staten Island rifled off eight shots in the first half but they struggled to hit their mark as Grant Gonzalez only had to make two saves.

It was the Ravens first to the scoreboard in the second half. Six minutes into the second half Sal Turelli cracked a free-kick off of the post and into the back of the net for the games first goal.

The Dolphins picked up the tempo and started to create better opportunities as the second half drew on. Joe Bolella hit the crossbar in the 76th minute, nearly knotting the game up at one. Just one minute later, Bolella would strike goal, making no mistake this time, finding the end of the corner kick by Macki Dougoune.

Momentum had fully swung into the Dolphins' favor after that as the Dolphins' leading goal scorer, Bryant Navarro, scored two minutes after Bolella did to give the Dolphins the lead for good. That wouldn't be the end for the Dolphins as Philip Lefkowitz would go on to convert a penalty kick to put the game out of reach of the Ravens to secure their fifth straight win.

CSI outshot Rosemont 18-8 while also registering the only four corner kicks in the game.

Staten Island will return to action on Wednesday, October 10 where they will travel to the Bronx, NY to take on reigning CUNYAC Champions, Lehman College.
