MEETDAY: WOMEN'S SWIMMING & DIVING VS HUNTER, 12 PM

11/9/2019 9:40:00 AM

The College of Staten Island Women's Swimming & Diving team will be back in the pool for the second consecutive day when they meet Hunter College at The Tank today at 12 PM.

CSI VS HUNTER COLLEGE AT-A-GLANCE
Matchup: CSIW (3-0) vs Hunter College (0-0)
Where: Sports and Recreation Center - 2800 Victory Boulevard, Staten Island, NY
Last Meeting: November 9, 2018 - Hunter won 60-28
Players to Watch (CSI): The Dolphins are off to a 3-0 start this season following their victory yesterday over the women of York College.  Deirdre McCafferty continues to impress as she set a new pool and school record in the 1000-yard freestyle with a time of 10.59.89 last weekend.  While McCafferty leads the team in first-place finishes, Lisnette Solano is also off to a strong start and is right behind her.  Gabriella Bartley rounds out a trio of Dolphins who had won at least three individual events entering last night's meet with the Cardinals, and many more Dolphins joined that group yesterday.  Look for Jen Basini to get on the scoreboard for the Dolphins today during today's diving events.  She did not get the opportunity to compete last night against York and will certainly do so today against the Hawks.
News & Notes:  The Hawks have beaten the Dolphins in 18 of the 21 meets they have competed in against CSI including last year's 60-28 win.  However, the Dolphins enter today's meet with a great deal of optimism following their 3-0 start to the season.  They are looking to surpass their 3-0 mark from 2013-2014 to make it their best start since 2012-2013 when they began the season 5-0.  That season also was the last time the Dolphins defeated the Hawks as they narrowly outlasted Hunter by a final score of 119-116.
What's Next?:  The women will be rejoined for their next meet at home by the men when both teams face Baruch College at The Tank on Friday at 6 PM.
