MEETDAY: MEN’S & WOMEN’S INDOOR TRACK & FIELD TO COMPETE AT SEAHAWK SHOOTOUT INVITE

Staten Island, NY - The College of Staten Island Men's & Women's Indoor Track & Field teams are coming off an impressive showing at the Fastrack Season Opener a week ago. Today, the teams will compete at Wagner College's Seahawk Shootout Invite. The events will begin at 2:00 PM at the Ocean Breeze Park Track & Field Athletic Complex in Staten Island, NY. The Dolphins will be competing in nine total events (two field events and seven running events).
 
LAST TIME OUT
At the Fastrack Season Opener last week, the Dolphins competed in ten events among the ten plus schools in attendance. Three Dolphins broke previous school records in the 60-meter dash, shot-put, and 200-meter run events. Along with breaking the record, senior Idrissa Sam Kabba took first place overall in the 60-meter dash with an impressive time of 7.11 seconds. The Seahawks also had a good showing in the opener, resulting in two first place finishes along with a few top 10 finishes. 
 
DOLPHINS COMPETING
In the field events, Ava Thompson, who broke CSI's Shot-Put record in the opener, will compete again in the Shot-Put field event along with fellow freshmen Dolphin, Florentina Lonati. Thompson will also compete in the Weight Throw field event. On the track for the women, Natalie Benites, Sophia Espada, Macy Jones-Busch, Kolleen Rodriguez will compete in the 60-meter dash. For freshmen, Jones-Busch and Espada's it will be their Dolphin debut on the track. Running in the 300-meter event will be Caitlyn Burns, Emily Albano, and Isabella Castro. Julia Calvo and Alexandrea Jackson will be participating in the 600-meter event. Hailey Caruso will try her luck at the 1000-meter run. As for the 4x400 Relay women's race, the team of Jackson, Burns, Albano and Calvo will showcase what they can do as team on the track. For the men, freshmen Vincent Ohenhen and Junior Olaitan Okeowo will compete in the 60-meter dash while seniors Daniel Palmieri and Spencer Milito run in the 1-Mile track event. Jordan Thompson will try his luck for the 300-meter dash while Idrissa Sam Kabba and Ahmed Khodir showcase what they can do in the 600-meter dash. Alan Bass will join Caruso as the only two Dolphins running in the 1000-meter event. The Dolphins men's team of Kabba, Thompson, Ohenhen, and Khodir will give it their all during the 4x400-meter relay event.
