DOLPHINS RANKED 5TH, 9TH IN FIRST USTFCCCA CONFERENCE POLL

1/30/2025 9:30:00 AM

It was announced on Tuesday that the U.S. Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA) has released their first National, Regional and Conference polls of the season. In the East Coast Conference regional poll, the CSI Men's Track & Field Team was ranked fifth while the women were ranked ninth. In the first regional poll of the season, the CSI men were ranked 13th and the women were ranked 16th.  The first poll comes in the midst of another record-setting season for the CSI Indoor Track & Field program which has seen the team receive multiple ECC Track Athlete of the Week honors and additional Honor Roll mentions.

The USTFCCCA is a non-profit that represents Cross-Country / Track & Field coaches throughout the country.  The organization posts regional rankings for NCAA programs across the nation based upon the results submitted through the Track & Field Results Reporting System (TFRRS).   It was announced earlier this season that CSI Cross-Country / Track & Field Head Coach Akil St. Louis was named the East Coast Conference representative on the Division II Executive Track & Field Committee. This committee operates under the USTFCCA and has afforded St. Louis the opportunity to uplift student-athletes in the ECC along with his own program.

Several Dolphins are among the ECC leaders across numerous events and have collected several accolades from the conference this season. Vincent Ohenhen, who was named ECC Track Athlete of the Week last week, currently leads the conference with his time in the 200-Meter and ranks third in the 60-Meter.  Adonijah Washington, who earned a spot on the ECC Weekly Honor Roll on Tuesday, also appears in the top ten for the 200-Meter, ranking sixth.

Finally, Skylar Pointer ranks eighth in the Shot Put, and Ava Thompson ranks fourth in the Weight Throw.

The Dolphins have one more meet ahead of the ECC Championship when they travel to Cambridge, Massachusetts for the Crimson Open on Saturday.
