THREE PROGRAM RECORDS FALL AT CRIMSON OPEN IN TRACK & FIELD REGULAR SEASON FINALE

Boston, MA - The College of Staten Island Indoor Track & Field Team wrapped up the regular season earlier today as they traveled to Boston for their debut in the Crimson Open.  Competing against both Division I and Division II competition, the Dolphins had yet another impressive showing as three more program records fell at today's meet.  The team also achieved numerous personal bests as they head into next week's East Coast Conference Championship with plenty of momentum.

All three program records set in today's meet belonged to the CSI men and included events both on the track and in the field.  Both records set on the track came in distance events as Wayne Stephenson broke the record in the 3000-Meter and Josmy Cerda set a new program record in the Mile.  Stephenson Took 12th place overall with his record-setting time of 9:14.12.  Cerda also placed 12th in the Mile posting a time of 4:31.33.  Finally, Dominik Hric claimed the program record in the Shot Put with a distance of 12.26m.  This was good for ninth place in a field of 32.

In addition to the three program records, the CSI men also achieved several highly impressive placements in crowded events filled with other highly talented athletes.  In the 200-Meter Vincent Ohenhen placed third overall in a field of 74 with a time of 22.17.  In the 400-Meter, three Dolphins placed in the top 12 as part of a field of 49, Ibrahima Diallo, Karran Riley, and Steven Elcock.  The CSI women also had their share of impressive finishes, including Inioluwa Ogunfowora in the 200-Meter.  The senior placed 25th in a field of 81 with a time of 27.38.  Adonijah Washington placed fourth among 27 competitors in the 400-Meter as well posting a time of 1:02.79.  In the field, Skylar Pointer placed tenth in the Shot Put competing against 33 other athletes.  Ava Thompson also placed sixth in a field of 33 in the Weight Throw.

Finally, seven Dolphins achieved personal records during today's meet across a variety of different events.  Christopher O'Brien and Diallo both achieved personal bests in the 400-Meter for the men.  For the women, both Elizabeth Nicotra, and Angelina Guerriero achieved their best time in the Mile.  Matthew Amato also added his best time in the 3000-Meter for the men and Tacia Marshall added one more PR for the women in the Shot Put.

The Dolphins will be back in action one week from tomorrow when they compete in the East Coast Conference Indoor Track & Field Championship.
