Staten Island, NY - The College of Staten Island Men's Cross-Country team finished 2nd overall at the Bard College Fred Pavlich XC Invitational, behind only St. Thomas Aquinas who were the winners in this one. Their best finish yet this season among the six other schools competing. The Women's Cross-Country team sent out four Dolphins to run in the 6K race for times as they did not qualify for the team rankings.

For the Women's team Julia Calvo placed at number 23 overall coming in with a time of 29:22.8, adjusting to a 6K race for the first time.

COACH'S REACTION
This was one of the best finishes for the Dolphins this season by far and Head Coach Andrew Gangemi was more than happy to see his team's hard work pay off. "I'm very proud of the men's group. Spencer led the way, but Fernandez, Khodir, and Pope ran as a tight pack pushing each other. Alan secured the second-place finish for us. Really great team effort today." Said Gangemi post-race. He added, "Julia Calvo made her 6K debut. She positioned herself to be able to finish strong. Caitlyn Burns was our next one in. She adapted well to the longer race. Ariel Ng and Isabel Gallo had gritty races."
