Rookie Runners Capture Respective ECC Weekly Honors After Fred Pavlich Invite

STATEN ISLAND, NY - On Saturday, Sept. 20, the College of Staten Island men's and women's cross country teams competed at the Fred Pavlich Invitational in New York. Following the meet, freshmen Adriana Roa and Kevin Deyo were honored by the East Coast Conference (ECC) with weekly awards.

Roa, who already holds a Rookie of the Week honors under her belt, is named the Runner and Rookie of the Week following her record breaking 6k performance when she clocked in a time of 24:57.3, which was the second-best overall time of the race.

Kevin Deyo posted a personal best time in the day when he crossed the finish line at 31:13.6 in the 8k race for the men earning him his first Rookie of the Week honors.

Men's and women's cross country will return to action on October 11 at the NJIT Invitational in Newark, NJ.
