MEETDAY: DOLPHINS INDOOR TRACK & FIELD TO COMPETE AT NYC GOTHAM CUP

Staten Island, NY - The College of Staten Island Men's & Women's Indoor Track & Field are back in action a week later to compete at the New York City Gotham Cup T&F Invite. The Dolphins are familiar with this invite, as it has been a mainstream for the teams to compete in each season. The multitude of events will begin at 1:00 PM at the Ocean Breeze Park Track & Field Athletic Complex in Staten Island, NY. The Dolphins will be competing in nine total events (two field events and seven running events). Only the men's team will be competing in the team 4x400 Meter Relay. LAST TIME OUT
CSI competed at the St. Thomas Aquinas College's Spartan Invite last Friday. The Dolphins participated in 10 field and track events. The invite showcased over 10 colleges and universities and their athletes. For CSI, the only team race was run by the men's team of Ahmed Khodir, Vincent Ohenhen, Christian Fernandez, and Samuel Pope who ran in the 400 Medley Relay. The team finished eighth out of the nine teams (six schools) with a time of 12:32.94. For the induvial events, the best finish came in the 60 Meter Dash, from freshmen male field athlete, Vincent Ohenhen who finished 10/43 with a time of 7.22, just shy of his personal best. The best finish for the women was also in the 60 Meter Dash by Caitlyn Burns who finished 20th with a time of 8.72.
 
DOLPHINS COMPETING
In the 60 Meter Dash both men's and women's teams will be competing with Dolphin runners, Vincent Ohenhen, Dennis Coticelli, Kyle Quesda, Caitlyn Burns, Megan Meagher, and Macy Jones-Busch. Both squads are also competing in the1000 Meter run, as Dolphins Daniel Palmieri, Alan Bass, Hailey Caruso, Alexandrea Jackson and Julia Calvo with give it their best effort. For the 200 Meter run, three male Dolphins (Quesda, Ohenhen, and Coticelli) will compete and one female Dolphin (Emily Albano) will give it their best shot. Only the men will be competing in the 800 Meter run utilizing the team of Pope, Khodir, and Fernandez. Riding solo in the 3000 Meter run will be Spencer Milito. Also riding solo is Jordan Thompson who will race in the 500 Meter run. On the field for the Shot-Put events will be Olatian Okeowo, Skylar Pointer, Ava Thompson, and Florentina Lonati. For the Weight-Throw event its all ladies as they will send out Pointer, Rebecca Andes and Thompson.
