TF Boston Terrier Classic Recap (2026)

TRACK AND FIELD CONCLUDES REGULAR SEASON AT BOSTON TERRIER CLASSIC

BOSTON, MA – The College of Staten Island men's and women's indoor track and field teams traveled to the John Thomas Terrier Classic for the first time in program history for the two day event on Jan. 30-31. 

Day 1
Adonijah Washington was a standout performer in the day one event for the women. In the Triple Jump event, she broke the school record two times on her first and fourth attempt. On the first attempt, where she initially broke the record, she recorded a distance of 11.58m. Later on during her fourth attempt, she exceeded her initial jump and reset the standard for a new distance of 11.65m. With her scores, she finished fourth in her flight resulting in her fourth overall finish in a field of 26 competitors. 

Day 2
Day two was for the mens where the Dolphins recorded two top performers with personal best times, Sam Whelan and Karran Riley. Whelan competed in the 60m dash where he was able to finish fourth overall and first in his flight with a time of 7.05 and then set a personal record in the 200m at 21.97. With Whelan's 200m time, he finished 11th overall in a field of 134 competitors. Riley joined Whelan within the 200m dash and also set a personal indoor record of 22.67. 


Also in the 200m event, the Dolphins recorded two second place finishes in their respective flights; Jeremiah Downer (22.33) and KJ Ede (22.39). 

The College of Staten Island indoor track and field teams will return to Staten Island and prepare for the ECC Championship at Ocean Breeze. The championship meet is set for Sunday. Feb. 15.
