Track and Field Meet Day at Boston Terrier Classic (Jan. 30-31, 2026)

MEET DAY: INDOOR TRACK AND FIELD MAKE FIRST EVER APPEARANCE AT TERRIER INVITATIONAL

BOSTON, MA — The College of Staten Island men's and women's indoor track & field teams will make their first-ever appearance at the Terrier Invitational in Boston, MA, on Jan. 30–31, 2026. The women are scheduled to compete Friday, while the men will take the track Saturday.

Dr. Sander Invitational Recap

The Dolphins competed in the two-day Dr. Sander Invitational last Friday and Saturday, marking their first meet of the season at The Armory. On day one, Akeem Pollard won his heat in the 60-meter dash and recorded a season-best time of 7.09, finishing seventh overall in a field of 45 competitors.

On the women's side, Adonijah Washington continued her strong season in the triple jump, posting a mark of 11.46 meters on her final attempt to earn a second-place finish. Kayla Larsen also turned in a standout performance in the 400-meter dash, setting a personal best with a time of 1:04.30.

Day two featured another record-breaking effort, as Jeremiah Downer set a new school record in the long jump with a mark of 6.38 meters, placing fourth overall. Sam Whelan was also a top performer, finishing second in the 200-meter dash with a time of 22.30 while winning his heat.

A Closer Look at ECC Top Performers

With the ECC Championships less than a month away, the Dolphins continue to place athletes among the conference's top 10 across multiple events. Whelan ranks fourth overall following strong performances at the Spartan Invitational, posting times of 7.02 in the 60-meter dash and 22.20 in the 200 meters. Pollard sits just behind in the 200 meters, ranking fifth with a time of 22.56.

In the 5,000-meter run, Deyo currently ranks eighth in the conference with a time of 18:35.39, while Matthew Amato follows closely in ninth at 19:09.34.

On the women's side, A. Washington ranks fourth in the 400 meters (1:00.57), fifth in the 200 meters (25.95), and sixth in the 500 meters (1:23.28). The 4x400 relay team of A. Washington, J. Washington, Larsen, and Madison Jackson currently sits seventh in the conference with a time of 4:19.54.
